About the Artist

I’m Katie, and I love to paint. So much so that I often spend time doing it during the precious hours after my three young kids are in bed (which would also explain why that pesky folded laundry waiting on the stairs STILL isn’t put away). I’ve always been a creative, dipping in and out of various mediums and applications, but in the last several years have really focused on watercolor. It’s such an expressive medium that requires decisiveness, flexibility, and confidence—things that I want to continue to grow in as an artist and as a person.

When I’m not painting, I like to watch football, go on walks with my family, and try out new (and often unnecessarily complicated) recipes.

  • I mostly paint, and mostly in watercolor. That said, I have done wall murals, acrylic on canvas, and lots and lots of graphic design. I consider myself a collaborative creative problem solver. Take a look at my galleries (here or here)or my Instagram (here), and if my style matches your vision, we might be a great match to tackle a project together!

  • I love when a client shares a reference photo with a meaningful story or connection. If your reference photo has that, so will your painting. A perfectly composed photo is not necessarily better than one that means something to you or really captures the essence of the person, place, or animal you're asking me to paint. If I’m painting your dog, I would love to know what is special about your pup and why you love them so much. If I'm painting a home or venue, why is it special to you?
